SNECI was appointed by a famous French-Japanese Tier 1 manufacturer to perform a Design to Cost analysis for an innovative engine product.
Over a period of 6 weeks, SNECI performed a critical analysis of the product design based on the BOM’s (Bill Of Material) 3D files and taking into account the expected product performances, functional specifications and constraints applied to each component.
SNECI then proposed 3 costing scenarios using several raw materials and production processes by component.
For each mechanical component, SNECI produced a costing report with a breakdown of materials, production and tooling costs. SNECI also conducted a price sensitivity study of each component based on volumes and provided a volume-related detailed costing report for standard components.
Following the signature of an NDA with the Client, SNECI carried out this mission using its experts and costing tools using different databases and validated cost models for different manufacturing processes.
