SNECI In Morocco With The MEDEF Delegation Led By Pierre GATTAZ

SNECI, a leading actor in the field of consulting in business development and industrial performance for the automotive sector, has participated in the visit of a delegation of a hundred French business leaders to Morocco on March 10. and 11. 2016. The delegation was led by Pierre GATTAZ, President of the MEDEF. MEDEF is the abbreviation for “Movement of the Enterprises of France” and is the largest employer federation in France with 750.000 member companies of which 90% are SMEs. This visit was very important. France is the first foreign investor in Morocco, a country that serves as a platform to address Africa. Morocco is also a country with lower production costs than Eastern Europe.

Reda LAYT, Managing Director SNECI Middle-East & Africa, has been part of the delegation during the two-day trip. The trip included visits to Tangiers, Casablanca, Kenitra, and Rabat.

The delegation visited the Port of Tanger-Med, the Renault-Nissan plant in Tangiers and the production site of Saint-Gobain in Kenitra. Further on meetings have been organized with the Minister of Industry, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy and the President of the Moroccan Employers Association, Ms. Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun.

Morocco is one of the key growth drivers for SNECI in the region of Middle-East & Africa. Thanks to an ambitious strategy driven by the Moroccan government, the automotive industry has seen the implantation of Renault and PSA PEUGEOT-CITROEN. Additionally, there has been rapid growth of a competitive automotive ecosystem. As a result, the automotive industry became the first export sector in 2015, with exports close to 5 billion euros.
